IT Security Chief of the Air Force

We are looking for someone who wants to develop into the foremost IT Security Chief of the Air Force.

We are now seeking a development-oriented and driven person to participate in the further development of the Air Force's security protection. About the Unit

The Air Staff leads and coordinates the Air Force's organizational units and combat units. A2X at the Air Staff leads the security protection work internally within the Air Staff and supports and coordinates the security service for the Air Force's organizational units.

About the Position

A2X conducts security protection services at the Air Staff under the leadership of the Security Chief, and your task is to support the security-sensitive operations carried out daily. You are expected to independently handle and drive matters within security protection, particularly in the areas of IT and information security. Collaboration with higher, parallel, and subordinate organizational units as well as other authorities' security organizations is included in the work tasks.

Travel both within and outside the country may occur.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate IT and information security work within the Air Staff
  • Support and coordinate the Air Force's organizational units in IT and information security areas
  • Develop guidelines and procedures within security protection
  • Educate in IT and information security
  • Lead and conduct internal control activities regarding IT security
  • Support in the operations' work with security protection planning and continuity planning
  • Support in the work with security approvals (accreditation) before the deployment of management support systems
  • Collaborate with higher and parallel staffs regarding security protection services, particularly in IT and information security

Qualifications:

  • Experience working within the Armed Forces and the Air Force's operational areas
  • In-depth knowledge of information security
  • Knowledge and experience in the cyber area
  • Degree from a university or other education/experience that the employer deems relevant and equivalent
  • Good computer skills, primarily within the Office suite.
  • Good ability to communicate and express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
  • Sufficient technical competence for in-depth system understanding
  • Driver's license B

Meritorious:

  • Authorized IT Security Chief in the Armed Forces
  • Diploma IT Security Chief in the Armed Forces
  • Experience and ability to conduct training
  • Knowledge of and experience with signal protection systems
  • Many years of experience working in security protection services
  • Knowledge of system development within the Armed Forces
  • Civilian education and certifications in the IT security area
  • Experience in personnel responsibility or other forms of leadership

Employment form: Civil permanent employment. The employment begins with a six-month probationary period for applicants who are not currently employed within the Armed Forces.
Employment degree: Full-time.
Work location: Uppsala.
Start date: As soon as possible.

Individual salary setting applies. On-call duty may occur in connection with exercises/operations. Business trips within and outside the country may occur.

Information about the Armed Forces and the Recruiting Unit:

The primary and largest task of the Air Staff is to support the Air Force Chief's leadership of all wings and schools in the Air Force at all levels of the conflict scale. The Air Staff develops, plans, implements, and evaluates orders and directives issued by the Air Force Chief. The Air Staff consists of approximately 350 employees. The Air Force organizes and trains air, base, and command units and is tasked with monitoring and protecting Sweden's airspace. This is a mission that continues around the clock, year-round, to ensure Sweden's integrity. Approximately 5100 employees, both civilian and military, work within the Air Force.

Employment with us means placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required.
